Mercy Watson's Hot Buttered "French" Toast Roll Ups!

Mercy's Hot Buttered "French" Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients

4 slices brioche bread

1 egg

2 tbsp milk

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp brown sugar

3 tbsp butter (softened, divided)

Directions

Flatten each slice of brioche with your hands, then roll gently with a rolling pin until thin.

In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of softened butter until smooth.

Spread the cinnamon-butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread and roll up tightly.

Whisk the egg in a shallow bowl with milk and sugar. Dip each roll into the egg, coating all sides lightly.

Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place the roll-ups in the pan and cook, turning often, until golden brown on all sides.

Serve warm with butter, syrup, or fresh fruit.

Enjoy warm, either plain or with a little maple syrup, honey, or fruit on the side.
