Puff Pastry Apple Rings Inspired by The Little Green Hen
Share
Inspired by that orchard of shining apples, I thought I’d share a recipe that celebrates the same spirit: Puff Pastry Apple Rings. They’re light, golden, and just sweet enough — perfect for storytime snacking.
Puff Pastry Apple Rings
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
2 medium apples (firm, like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Slice apples into rings about ¼-inch thick, removing the core with a small cutter or knife.
Toss each apple ring in the cinnamon and sugar mix.
Roll out puff pastry slightly. Cut into strips about ½ inch wide.
Take each apple slice and gently wrap with 2 strips of puff pastry, spiraling around until the apple is covered.
Place wrapped rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
